3.4M6 is out!

Check out the impressive list of New and Noteworthy items.

I recommend “bleeding-edge” developers adopt this build as soon as possible to allow for feedback on some of the new stuff that was dropped (e.g., p2, api tools). The Platform team deserves a lot of credit for getting this out the door considering, updating, building, launching, self-hosting, exporting etc… all had to be reworked for the new provisioning story.

Cheers!

Sigh. Submitted 2 bugs after 5 minutes of using new update manager. πŸ™

Wow! Thank you for your works to Eclipse! I always read your blog, and I always enjoy to use Eclipse and based on Eclipse product.

    I love Eclipse very much!

Is the feature “breadcrumb Bar” experimental alreadey now?Is it available to include Ganymede release?I like it.
Sorry,I know you are PDE team leader, and you are not JDT member.
But I don’t know how to tell it is nice feature to JDT members.

Now I’m blogging to spread Eclipse new technologies to Japanese people.Because I’m Japanese;-)
And I want to join Planet Eclipse.I know it is required to write in English only. But why?Do you know?

Sorry, after 4 hours of ‘battles’ against new update manager, decided to rollback to M5.

Old instalation plugins won’t work, new plugins are unable to instal either by update-site (“unable to deal with two blah blah commons.logging”) or by hand (copied into eclipse structure).

What is going on ?? I know, that this is experimental feature – but fully unusable.

kompiro, you’re English is pretty good for not a native speaker πŸ™‚

For multi-lingual planets… can you voice your support on this bug?

Also, I think your English is good enough to be syndicated on PlanetEclipse. If you want to get syndicated, let me know.

Is there an update site for M6 yet?

I haven’t had any luck installing external plugins that depend on stuff like GEF or EMF. With M5 it all worked nicely (I’m using it in a production environment), but I’d just love to keep up with milestones, and the nice new features, of course.

Hm, that update site does not seem to contains GEF.

I also noticed that GEF finally released M6 zip archives, but their update site also did not work.

However, I managed to download their stuff and put it in the (new) dropins folder (as I had to do with most other plugins, too, as they would not all work with their update sites).

Seems like P2 is a cool mechanism, but still needs a bit of work.
